The initial idea of Alaska Simulator has been developed by Barbara and Werner during one of their numerous travels. After an initial conception of Alaska Simulator has been developed Stefan and Michael implemented the core of the simulator as part of their master thesis and conducted some initial experiments using the simulator. Jakob extended Alaska Simulator within his master project with advanced support for events and constraints and conducted further experiments. Additional features for easier configuration of the simulator and better analysis of the conducted journeys were added by within an e-learning project supported by the University of Innsbruck. Hannes Tribus implemented reporting features for Alaska in his bachelor project and Martin Gratz extended the reporting features of Alaska in his bachelor thesis. Felix Schöpf is currently working on experimental workflow support and Roland Guem is working on configuration support.
